Can you believe that flaming June has come and gone and some of the summer shows are about to blossom! The Hampton Court Flower Show starts 5th July and finishes on the 10th July, set in the grounds of Cardinal Wolsey’s masterpiece which was completed in 1540. Unlike the Chelsea Flower show it’s only 30 minutes away from Heathrow and a brilliant day out.
The show started in 1990 and today it is the largest flower show in the world! The site covers 34 acres with the floral Marquee is 6750 square metres and large enough to house an entire FA football pitch. Some additional fun facts care of the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) include 140,000 visitors who consume, 48,000 cups of coffee, 15,000 rounds of sandwiches, 1500 baguettes and a desirable 14,800 glasses of champagne. Hampton Court is close by to Kingston on Thames, Teddington and also in easy reach is Richmond and Twickenham where numerous restaurants and bars are in abundance.
